Free Professional Learning at your Fingertips

Free opportunities don’t come around very often these days. Fortunately, once a year the K-12 Online Conference returns with a quality, free online conference available to educators around the world. If you are looking for ideas on how to integrate technology in the classroom or make more professional development available to your teachers…look no further. Spearheaded by Wes Fryer, an educational technology leader, K-12 Online provides a rich anywhere, anytime learning environment for anyone interested in learning more about enhancing educational opportunities for students. The conference has a set start and end date, but the videos and discussions remain available year round. In fact, you can still learn from past conference sessions created in 2006!

The conference theme for 2012 is “Learn, Share, Remix”. The schedule is as follows.

  • Pre-Conference Keynote: Oct 15th
  • Week 1 Presentations (Getting Started and Visioning New Curriculum): October 22 – 25
  • Week 2 Presentations (Kicking It Up a Notch and Student Voices): October 29 – November 2

You can view the full schedule via the following link. Presentations will be posted as they become available each day. The pre-conference keynote, presented by Kevin Honeycutt, was made available yesterday and it is worth taking the 20 minutes to watch. Hopefully it will inspire you to participate in the conference this year and for many years to come.
