Chris Bahney Spotlight
Chris Bahney, Desktop Engineer at Heritage Valley Health System, as been a Questeq Team Member for 2 years. Chris’s job is unique, as he works the night shift and provides a variety of vital services for Heritage Valley. He is responsible for processing all patient accounting and nightly financial systems using the DIGITAL Command Language (DCL) programming language. In addition, Chris is the sole help desk representative for both Heritage Valley Beaver and Sewickley during his overnight shift. Chris also is responsible for performing essential Level One network troubleshooting and maintenance for HVHS.
Chris has successfully completed the CCNA and A+ certifications. Recently, he has been working with the network team at the hospital to remove old wireless access points and replacing them with updated hardware. In conjunction with the access points he is also upgrading network cabling hospital-wide.
Chris recalls, “My favorite memory (at Questeq) would have to be the hiring process as a whole. I was made to feel very comfortable. Upon being hired I have felt nothing less than a valued employee of Questeq.”
In regards to technology trends, increased accountability and changes in healthcare, there are many new technologies being implemented. He states, “The current financial system that I work with is being phased out. Since hospitals have to be more accountable than ever, we are moving to a new semi-automated system. Although this system is automated, it does require a large amount of operator oversight, and I will be working with this system heavily in the future.”
Jessica Azur, HR Manager for Questeq shares, “Chris has been a great asset to the Heritage Valley team since he joined Questeq. His position requires him to work 12 hour night shifts while being responsible for the support of two hospitals. Chris has grown and excelled in this position which makes him an excellent choice for this spotlight!”
